Blog Set 1

My name is Alexandra, I am 18 years old and my major is Actuarial Science. After I get my associates I want to transfer to UCF and enter the actuary program. My taste is kind of all over the place because I like many different things. I can go from girly fantasy shows like Once Upon A Time to something very gruesome like the Saw movies or Dexter the series. 

I was very scared of horror movies when I was little and now I just love them. I think I got into because my dad was always ready to watch anything scary like it was nothing. My mother hates scary movies so he would watch it by himself and soon I joined him. Whenever we would go to an amusement park, my dad and me would always go on the biggest and scariest rides at the park. The adrenalin and suspense while I was riding a roller coaster reminded me of the same feeling I had for scary movies. 

What interests me about science fiction is that it shows us things that are probably are going to happen in the future. What interest about fantasy is that it opens up my imagination.  I have always loved fantasy because I grew up watching all of the fairy tales like The Little Mermaid or Sleeping Beauty. These genres are my favorite because the author’s who create these movies and shows, thinks out of the box. It’s very different and fascinating than other genres.

I have always wanted to watch very old horror movies because I've heard that those are the best ones. The horror movies out now aren’t that great or scary in my opinion.  I hope LIT2310 helps me understand these genres more in depth and I hope to see different perspectives.
