Once Upon A Time 

I re watched season one of Once Upon A Time because I didn’t have time to finish it all the way through the first time but it is still a very good show. Once upon a time is way different from American Horror Story. Emma is the main character which has a son named Henry. Henry finds Emma and tells her that he is her son and that she is also Story Brook’s Savior. Henry carries this really big book full of fairytales and he thinks that the book is related to real life, but of course everyone doesn’t believe him because he’s a kid. Emma ends up taking him back to story brook and guess who ends up being henry’s adopted mother? The evil queen, which is the major of the  town. The evil queen made a big spell when everyone was still living in the enchanted forest. The spell was to make everyone forget who he or she was and where he or she came from. Time didn’t pass in story brook so no one aged. Just like Henry said, Emma is the savior to get everyone out of the curse the evil queen put on the whole town. She ends up being Prince charming and Snow White’s daughter. Before the curse hit, snow white put Emma in an enchanted wardrobe thing the Pinocchio’s father made. The evil queen hates Emma because she has came to ruin her plans and also she is jealous because Emma has Henry’s attention. Regina (the evil queen) knows exactly who Emma is and she tries to poison her with an apple but Henry ended up eating it. Henry turns up in the hospital and he can’t be awakened.  Regina and Emma gave Henry a goodbye kiss because they didn’t think he would make it but once Emma gave Henry a kiss she broke the whole curse. Even though Emma broke the curse, no one returned home to the enchanted forest, which was weird. So now I have ask myself, would they ever all go back to live in the enchanted forest? A special feature that Once Upon A Time is how they mix all the fairy tells together. You can get from Little Red Ridding hood all the way to Frozen. It has the feature of adpation because you get a mixture of every fairy tale and disney movie all in one.

American Horror Story 

I just finished the first season of America Horror Story. Compared to any other horror series this satisfied me in every way.  This season was basically all about a new family moving into a new house. Now there are many plot twists and it keeps you on the edge of your seat. Let me start off by saying that the family moved away because the father had an affair with a younger women and his wife found out. They moved into this big house but they didn’t know that it was the “Murder House”. There were so many killings in this house and everyone who died in the house or even on the house’s ground would stay there forever. The house already came with a maid who everyone saw her as an older women but the father saw her as a young women who always tried to seduce him. The couple also had a daughter named violet who fell in love with a boy name Tate. Now Tate seemed like a real person but in reality he is actually a ghost that stayed at the house. There are many others who the family sees as real but they are certainly not like the gay couple or the mother who lost her baby. Vivien (the wife) had sex with someone who she thought was her husband because he was wearing this weird black suit but it really wasn’t him. Guess who it was? It ended up turning out to be TATE! She ends up being pregnant with twins by him but keep in mind that Tate is a ghost. Violet also tries to kill her self by overdosing and in the show it seemed like she stayed alive but Tate hide her body from her so she didn’t even know she was dead until her body was found. Every ghost in the house wanted Vivien’s babies and tried to steal them away.  Vivien’s babies ended up being half human and half demon. In the end, Vivien, Ben (the husband), Violet and one of the twins ended up dead, which was pretty sad.  The other twin ended up at Tate’s mom’s house, which is the twin’s grandmother. He ended up eating raw meat and killing other people. The house brings out many fears to people and even some one the ghosts. The father has a the fear of guilt because he has cheated before and so the house messing with him seeing the maid attractive. There is also a ghost mother whose baby has died and is still walking around the house asking where her baby is. Her fear is not having her baby anymore and thats why she wants Viven's baby. Ben talks to this man who is scared of the "Piggy Pig Pig" and he tries to confront it by saying it in the mirror and he actually showed up and killed him. The house is full of fears and make sure it gets to you.That’s how the season ended and in my opinion it was awesome. I liked how after ever episode I wanted to see what would happen next. Now I want to see seasons 2,3, and 4 of American Horror Story.

Blog Set 4

The Star

It took me a while to actually understand what was going on. It really didn’t catch my attention at the beginning so that’s probably why I really didn’t get into it since it was so slow. As I kept reading it was actually finally picking up. At first people were taking this new “bright star” in a calm way which I think is pretty weird because if I saw something like that I would be pretty scared. Just imaging what they went through is frightening. They didn’t know what this object was at first; some of them were actually fascinated. There was this one Mathematician that knew exactly what was happening but no one wanted to listen to them.  I put myself in their shoes and I wouldn’t even know what do to. The “star” started to come closer and closer and that’s when they actually started to freak out. The close it got the more disaster came on earth. Floods, earthquakes, and dangerous storms came, which did kill many. Others got on ships and some just packed their things and left. By the end of the story creatures on mars saw everything that happened but it didn’t seem like much of a difference. The only difference was that there wasn’t any frozen ice on earth anymore. Earth became hotter than usual.  The appeal of these stories would probably be how people use their last moments wisely because their lives are soon coming to an end.

Speech Sounds

This story was total opposite because I loved it. It’s probably because it picked up from the beginning. The story makes the world of today question what will happen in the future? There were so many fights on the bus where the main character Rye was in. At the moment buses and cars were rare because there were barley any survivors. What Rye went through was very sad and touching.  She lost her children and her parents from the virus, so she basically had nothing left. If she stayed home she would of killed herself so she decided to go to her brother’s house in Pasadena. She didn’t want to be alone anymore and she wanted to be around her brother and his two children. Rye’s adventure hasn’t even started yet until she met a bearded man that she gave the name Obsidian. At first she felt a little frighten because he was a stranger. She got into his car even though she was scared but she did it anyways because it was something she had never did before. She ended up being attracted to this man and they ended up having sexual relations. It was a perfect ending for her since she was alone for three years. Obsidian was like the solution to all her problems. She wanted to take him back home with her because it felt good to have someone with you for once. While they were driving a woman ran in front of their car. She was running away from a man with a knife in his hand. Of course Obsidian got out the car to help her like any other cop would. The woman ended up dying and so did the male who was trying to kill her. The biggest and saddest plot twist of the whole story was when the man who was trying to kill the lady was actually still alive! The man ended up killing Obsidian, which was the only hope Rye had. After a while these two little children came out of the house where the woman and man came from. Rye took the bodies to bury them next to her other loved ones who passed and she also took the two children with her back home. After everything, Obsidian did come home with Rye, as she wanted him too.

Both of these stories made me think about how life would really be if that happened in real life. I couldn’t even think about seeing the end of the world happen like in The Star or if I was one of the survivors like Rye. Not knowing when my next meal will be? Or even losing one or all of my loved ones. To walk outside and see the world as a wasteland would be very terrifying and depressing. These stories remind me of many other movies/shows like The Walking Dead, War of the Worlds, The book of Eli, and Resident Evil.

Update: By eighteen years old Phoebe already accomplished a lot. She is the head Pharmacist at her local pharmacy. Phoebe grew up in a low class home and she worked her way up because he wanted to give her kids more than what she said. Phoebe also had an obsession over money, which is why her goal is to become a doctor and make tons of it. She is into both the fields of technology and medical. She is now a full time student to become a Surgeon. She is very intelligent and has skipped many grade levels in the past.

Phoebe is now 28 with a PHD just like she wanted. Technology has skyrocket and now robots exist in our society. Phoebe is a doctor for most of these robots and is the best in her field. Phoebe loved the fact that she is able to work in both of her favorite subjects. One day, one of the robots had evil side effects that Phoebe noticed. She took out the damaged chip and threw it in the trash basket by her desk. The next day she noticed that four of them were having the same side effects. She took all of the chips out before it was to late. She didn’t know what she was doing wrong so she decided to travel to head quarters. She took a plane to head quarters because this matter was way to serious. When she got there took the elevator up to the twewth floor to talk to the CEO. He didn’t believe her without proof and he barley listened to her. Phoebe went back home because she felt that talking him was pointless. By the time she got to back in town she noticed something was different. The robots have gone out of hand and are killing innocent people. Phoebe knows their weakness because works with them everyday.  She went into her lab and made a weapon to shut them down. Once she presses the buttons all the robots should collapse because she connected their servers to this weapon. Everyone was relief that robots have stopped and the president decided not to have any types of robots in society. Phoebe also received a metal and a apology letter from the CEO.

Blog Set 3

After I read “That Only a Mother” the world of science/technology affected this landscape in a very horrible way by having a war and radiation problems. There were many problems with children being born as mutants. The mother in this story is named Margaret and she just got pregnant. Her husband was involved with some type of radiation materials.  Her mother writes her a letter of concern about the baby because she knows that Hank (Margaret’s husband) has been involved with things that have to do with a lot of radiation. Throughout the pregnancy she writes letters to her husband, which is away for work.  She tells him everything from when the baby was in the womb till she is able to speak. Once Margaret had the baby she felt that she was perfection just like any mother would. I started to think things were very odd when the mother and her baby had a conversation with each other. The baby was only ten months and she was speaking fluently as if she was older. Margaret completely ignored the fact that her ten-month year old was speaking to her. Hank finally sent his wife a letter that he was coming home.  Margaret prepared for this moment for a very long time that she already had her whole outfit planned.  She was so excited to finally show her husband their child. Once hank came into the house he went into the rooms. He finally saw his daughter and witnesses her talking like she was 6 years old. He was amazed about his daughter being able to talk but he thought it was old that she couldn’t crawl at all. The baby needed her diaper changed and Margaret insisted on doing it herself but Hank pointed out the fact that he had experience because of his siblings. As soon as Hank took off the baby’s clothes to change her diaper, he noticed that the baby had no arms or legs. Now this is when I think the mother has gone completely mad because how could she ignore this for ten months.

After I read “We See Things Differently” we can tell that America is in a economic and social decline because they are looking up to one person to get America back on track (Tom Boston). At the moment Russia was the leading country but then some Afghani terrorist blew the country up. America got the blame for it because we supposedly gave the Afghani terrorist the bomb so they can do it. We were seen as monsters that only cared about ourselves. The author “Charlie” (if I should even call him that because its not his real name) started the story out by how everyone else sees us now. “The land of ignorance. This was America. The Great Satan, the Arsenal of Imperialism, the Bankroller of Zionism, the Bastion of Neo-Colonialism”. Charlie pretends to be a reporter and goes to a concert to see the Tom Boston. He ends up actually meeting him and asks him questions to still play the role of a reporter. Charlie ends up taking some type of cocaine that contains a deadly virus with Boston. Boston doesn’t do drugs but Charlie ends up convincing him to do it with him. At the end of the story Charlie reveals his secrets to us readers by saying his name and his role was all an act. He was actually on a mission to kill Tom so that America wouldn’t have a chance to rise up again. He took his life for his people by taking the drugs with Tom.
Update:Update: After discussing it in class, i understood these stories more in depth. I never noticed that by the end of the story that the dad might have killed the baby. Just like ever other father around the area who had done the same thing but never got convicted. Its true that mostly mothers accept their children flaws better than fathers do. But why is that? Why don’t the father’s accept it too? Who would actually kill a baby just because it came out differently? Its not like it’s their fault on how they came out. Can you imagine how that went?  Their baby could actually talk and probably knew what was going on. I don’t know how he was able to actually go threw with it, I don’t know how any of the fathers did it actually. Also I thought the husband’s letters weren’t shown because he could barley reply since he was at work. But in class everyone said that they didn’t show his letters because it would of taken the attention away from the mother. The story wants us to focus on her point of you and not his.  Now in the other story I was a little confused about it until the day of class, which gave me more clarity. Tom Boston is actually the president of the whole world, which I didn’t pick up. The whole story was a mixture of media and political which is actually pretty cool. There were also clues about a war when he said he wanted to buy a tank and aircrafts. These war tools was said to do a “performance” on but now I think he wants to buy one to actually use it in a war.
